3d Blue Chip: West Regional Camp Standouts
by Casey Vock (2/11/16)
Brogan Balasubramani, Defense, Grant (Ore.)/3d Oregon, 2019
Balasubramani shined at the 3d Blue Chip West Regional Camp as a fundamentally sound, patient defender who brings a good mix of size, athleticism and skill to the field. The right-handed defender is sound on the ball and uses his reach and good feet to play good position. He made plays all weekend just being smart and using opportunistic checks and staying disciplined for the most part. He showed how athletic he can be by going after ground balls and then working up the field with some speed. He was observed to be a vocal leader through the training and in games. Balasubramani matched up against some of the more talented, athletic players at the camp and more than held his own in a number of situations. He had an excellent overall weekend at the camp.
Big Four Fall Champions League 2015: Freshman Standouts
by Casey Vock (11/12/15)
Brogan Balasubramani, Defense, 3d Pacific
The college coaches' pronunciations of this last name were vast and creative, but the player's performance on the field was a little easier to read. He was one of a handful was good looking players on the defensive half for this 3d Pacific squad. Balasubramani is a big, strong kid who showed athleticism up the field and really heady playmaking that helped lead to a pair of goals in transition in just a few minutes of one game we caught. He’s thick and powerful, and he showed that he can move well coming up the field throughout the afternoon. He accelerated out of traffic to start one of those breaks and then assisted on a goal himself by grabbing the ball off the ground and quickly hitting a teammate for another goal after an opposing defender batted down a pass. With his size and stick reach, and what appears to be good field sense, he can make plays among his 2019 peers and present challenges as a large, nimble presence on the defensive end.
